Child Labour Policy

At Himalayn-Pinksalt.Com, we are dedicated to operating an ethical, transparent, and sustainable supply chain. As a leading manufacturer and exporter of natural Himalayan pink salt products, we maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy against child labor, forced labor, and any form of youth exploitation across all our mining, manufacturing, processing, and distribution operations.

We strictly align our operational ethics with local employment laws as well as international labor standards established by the International Labour Organization (ILO).

1. Definition of Child Labour

In accordance with ILO conventions and global regulatory frameworks, Himalayn-Pinksalt.Com defines child labor as:

  • Any work performed by children under the minimum legal working age (15 years).
  • Any work that prevents a child or young person from receiving compulsory education or attending school.
  • Any work that is hazardous, mentally or physically harmful, or unsafe to the health, safety, or moral development of individuals under the age of 18.

2. Our Commitments & Policy Directives

In conducting our day-to-day operations and managing our global supply chain, Himalayn-Pinksalt.Com strictly adheres to the following principles:

  • Zero-Tolerance Employment: We do not employ or engage children below the legal age under any circumstances. Verification of age via official government identity documents is compulsory prior to onboarding.
  • No Forced or Compulsory Labour: All employment at our facilities is voluntary. We do not require employees to deposit original identity documents, financial deposits, or work under forced conditions.
  • Protection of Young Workers: Any young workers legally eligible for light employment duties are strictly shielded from hazardous tasks, night shifts, overtime, and conditions that interfere with their safety or educational pursuits.
  • Fair Wages & Standard Hours: We strictly comply with national statutory regulations concerning working hours, overtime compensation, minimum wages, and workplace health and safety conditions.
  • Support for Education: We advocate for child rights and actively support community initiatives that promote formal schooling and literacy for children within salt-mining communities.

3. Supply Chain Monitoring & Remediation

Our commitment extends beyond our immediate workforce to include our extended network of mining partners, contractors, and local suppliers:

  • Supplier Verification: We require all mining sites, raw salt providers, and processing facilities to demonstrate strict compliance with our Child Labour Policy as a mandatory condition for doing business.
  • Regular Audits: Our Human Resources and Operations teams conduct periodic site inspections to ensure full adherence to our labor standards.
  • Remediation Plan: If a child is ever found working within any part of our extended supply chain, immediate action will be taken to remove the child from the situation, engage local educational authorities, and provide family support to ensure the child returns to full-time schooling.

4. Implementation & Accountability

Compliance with this policy is overseen by the Human Resources Department and Executive Management of Himalayn-Pinksalt.Com. All facility managers, supervisors, and logistics partners are held directly responsible for upholding these standards.

Our Motto: “100% Ethical Sourcing, Zero Child Labour.”
